Description
The Split Tone Pad, developed with Anika Nilles, has three different surfaces for different playing feels, different volumes, and a deliberately reduced rebound on the back. This pad offers much more than just the familiar practice of rudiments. With the Split Tone Pad, you can creatively implement your own, systematic approach to improve your accuracy and consistency, combined with independence, power, and dynamics. Another special feature of this pad is the ability to train your hearing and understanding of specific rhythms.
The middle zone has a normal rebound and is perfect for practicing as usual.
The additional, red zones have a higher sound than the main surface. Playing these with only the right or left hand divides the exercises into two different sounds, allowing you to hear familiar stickings in a new way.
The soft, oval zone on the top provides a muted sound. Incorporating this area into your handset allows you to focus your attention on the other hand to identify and improve mistakes and weak points.
The playing surface on the back has a special surface that reduces rebound. This allows you to warm up quickly and gain additional power. If you play the pad on the top, the special back also prevents slipping on smooth surfaces.
