Introduced to the market by TAMA, Bubinga wood is becoming increasingly popular as a material for drum shells. Due to their ultra-high density, Bubinga shells deliver rich, fat bass notes as well as deep, dark tones.
STAR Bubinga shells are much thinner than their Starclassic counterparts. All shells are 4.5 mm thick, including the bass drums and snare drums. These thinner shells allow the Bubinga material to vibrate more freely, which greatly improves resonance. All STAR Bubinga shells are equipped with 9 mm thick Sound Focus Rings (SFR), which provide clear projection and sustain and enhance the sound.
