Description
A massive sound with full projection and a rich, resonant tone, combined with a fine, crisp snare response. To achieve this sound, the Japanese company Tama gave the Starphonic snare drums a new hoop, lug, and hook design, mounted on a selection of uniquely constructed shells. Perhaps the most important innovations are the "Freedom Lugs" and "Claw Hooks": Thanks to this new design, the lugs can be easily folded aside after slightly loosening the screws. The "Grooved Hoop" hoop can be quickly removed and reattached in this way, enabling extremely fast and uncomplicated head changes. This system is further refined by a quick-detachable butt end, which also speeds up the replacement of the resonator head. The fine adjustments of the snare drum wires are thus retained 100%, eliminating the need for further fine-tuning.
