Hybrid Snare Wire
TAMA's unique hybrid snare wire consists of two distinct characters of straight snare wires.
6 strands of nickel wound round guitar strings in the center provide high sensitivity and a clear sound.
3 strands of black, nylon-coated stainless steel wire on each outer side provide rich body and control grip on the shell.
 
Linear Drive Filter with Fine Adjustment
By turning the knob below the strainer, you can change the tension of 6 nickel wound round guitar strings while maintaining the tension of the black nylon-coated stainless steel wire. This helps adjust the sensitivity of the snare wire without dampening the resonance of the snare drum. The linear drive strainer ensures quiet engagement and disengagement of the snare wires.
