In his drum set method, Gert Bomhof focuses on three essential elements of drum set playing: timing, technique, and sound. In this method, young drummers are first familiarized with basic techniques and rules for playing the drum set. However, emphasis is placed not only on technical mastery, but above all on expression. In the first volume, the instruments are presented one after the other, and rhythms are introduced first in individual modules and then in combinations of different rhythm patterns. Volume 2 features many new rhythms. In specially developed technical exercises, the so-called "technos," new rhythms and elements are worked on step by step. In both volumes, new rhythm and Music Station technical elements are followed by fun solos and drum set duets in which the learned material can be tried out and musical expression can be developed.
